What is the Difference between CeMAP Training and CeFA
CeMAP Training is different from CeFA
CeMAP training is specifically aimed at mortgage advisers and covers the mortgage industry and products in addition to the associated products such as life insurance, buildings and contents insurance, Critical Illness Cover, etc. This means that the CeMAP qualified adviser can give advice on all of these products. CeFA is aimed at the Financial Advisers not mortgage advisers.
CeMAP Training differs in other ways from CeFA
The CeMAP certificate is split into three exams, CeMAP 1, 2 and 3 whereas CeFA comprises four exams – CeFA 1, 2, 3 and 4. CeMAP 1 and CeFA 1 are the same exam and cover the basics of the financial services regulation and markets. The subsequent exams are where the syllabus for CeMAP differs from the syllabus for CeFA.
CeMAP Training for Mortgages
CeMAP 2 and 3 are totally concerned with the mortgage market and products including such topics as repayment methods, mortgage products, etc. The CeMAP 2 exam is fact based questions whereas the CeMAP 3 exam is case study (or synoptic) based testing. On the other hand, CeFA 2 and 3 concentrate on investment products, pensions, etc and then CeFA 4 brings these topics together in a case study based exam.
